As from the beginning Nassau has been owned and maintained by Robert Huibers. He bought the boat when he became sixty and planned to sail her, together with his wife, for a period of ten years. These wonderful years have meanwhile passed and time has come to think about other activities.

On October the 8th of 1998, in Ellös, Sweden, Shipyard Hallberg-Rassy delivered the boat. By truck she was then shipped to Port Camargue in the South of France. A stop was made in Holland, where official measuring and registration took place. On October the 25th of the same year, Jeanette Huibers christened her with the name "Nassau".

November 1998 she sailed via Gibraltar to the Canary islands. From there, in just 15 days and 15 hours, to Barbados. This marked the beginning of six years Caribbean cruising. North/South to the islands between Trinidad and the BVI's and to the West up to Curação. During the hurricane seasons storage took place at Peake's wharf on Trinidad.

In May 2004 Nassau once more crossed the Atlantic Ocean with destination Portugal. From then on Lagos, Portugal, has become home base. From where, apart from many local trips, the Azores and Madeira were visited.
